Syracuse University’s Department of Public Safety has issued a trespass warning to a “suspicious male” who SU says approached several female students on campus.

Multiple SU students recently reported the individual to DPS, a university spokesperson wrote in a statement to The Daily Orange. The man allegedly approached female students, asked for their cell phone numbers and would “invite them out,” the spokesperson wrote.

Shortly after receiving the reports, DPS identified the man and issued the warning. He is not affiliated with the university, according to the spokesperson.

Any SU community members who encounter the man are encouraged to contact DPS, the spokesperson wrote. Community members can reach DPS through the Orange Safe app, by calling 315-443-2224 or by dialing #78 (#SU) on a cell phone.

Students can also bring information to DPS representatives in person at its stations on 005 Sims Hall and 101 Marshall Street.

This story will be updated with additional reporting.
